How to Load a Dumpster Efficiently
So you’ve rented a dumpster and it’s time to load that dumpster. You might assume loading a dumpster is straightforward, but that’s not always the case.
- Location: Work with the driver to find the best location for the dumpster related to your project. We will take all efforts to put the dumpster in the right location.
Load: Upon delivery, the driver will open both doors. It’s ideal to load from front to back, with the doors being the back.
- Breakdown: To maximize your space, breakdown all large items, including furniture when possible.
- A few don’ts: To avoid extra fee’s, don’t overload the dumpster (height and weight) and don’t throw in forbidden items as listed in the rental agreement.
- Utilize all the space by breaking down large items and compacting as you go
- Load the weight as evenly as possible, starting at the front away from the doors
- Avoid "not allowed" items and don't overload by height or weight

Contract and Acknowledgement for Rental:
This contract is entered into on the date of acknowledgement by the client and is between the client and Freedom Dumpsters for roll-off dumpster rentals. Payment and contract acknowledgment must be received prior to delivery. Payment options include website, credit card and cash on delivery. If paying via cash or with credit card on delivery, payment will be accepted by the driver before the dumpster is dropped.
Rental term dependent on number of days selected by client at time of check-out. Delivery will be scheduled with client after the payment and rental agreement acknowledgement are confirmed. During check-out, please select the desired delivery date. This date is NOT considered firm until verbal or text confirmation from Freedom Dumpsters. Due to unit availability, we cannot guarantee the desired delivery date. Freedom Dumpsters will make every effort to schedule delivery at or near that date as possible and delivery date/time will be coordinated with purchaser and Freedom Dumpster post check-out.
Weight limitations:
Dumpster size:
- 15 yard = 2000 LBS
- 20 yard = 3000 LBS
If the load weight exceeds the limit, the client is subject to a $50 per 1000 lbs overweight surcharge.
Height limitations:
All contents in the dumpster must be no higher than the top of the doors. When loading please be aware of the max load line sticker on all sides of the dumpster. If height limitations are exceeded, the client is subject to a $50 over height surcharge. If the driver can’t adjust the load height for proper tarping, the client may be required to unload items.
NOT ALLOWED - PROHIBITED ITEMS
Prohibited Items – Tires, Motor Oil, Gasoline, Paint, Propane Tanks, Batteries, Concrete, Shingles, Hazardous Materials, Gravel, Rock, Dirt, Sand, Animal carcasses. If prohibited items are found, the client is subject to a $100 surcharge, per item.
Freon items:
Pre-approval is required for items with freon such as refrigerators, freezers and window units. The fee is a $35 per unit, dump fee passed thru to the customer. Items must be clean of all food and debris. If not cleared, they will be brought back for the client to clean out with a $75 return trip surcharge.
Delivery and Pickup:
We will take extra precautions to protect the area, however, Freedom Dumpsters will not be responsible for any damage to the driveway, grass, or location we are told to place the dumpster. If access to the dumpster is blocked during the pickup process and can’t be cleared, the client agrees to pay a $75 return trip surcharge.
Payment and acknowledgment must be received prior to scheduling services.
By selecting ACKNOWLEDGE, the client is confirming that they are the person legally authorized to decide on requested service(s) and is releasing Freedom Dumpsters LLC from all liability which may occur from any personal property claims due to this dumpster rental. The client has read and agreed to adhere to the rental rules and confirms their payment method will remain on file to pay surcharges if/when applicable.
Refund policy: Refunds are available before the dumpster is delivered. Once delivered, refunds aren’t allowed.
